This recipe is delicious! It’s from the blog 365 Days of Slow Cooking (not to be confused with A Year of Slow Cooking, which you should also check out because it’s entirely gluten free crockpot recipes).
I followed the recipe exactly, up until I got to the roux part. Instead of using 1/2 cup flour I used 1/4 cup cornstarch. Mix the cornstarch with cold water first then add it to the butter and keep whisking it so it doesn’t chunk up.
This has a lot of flavor and tastes like something you’d get at a yummy soup restaurant only it’s better because it’s gluten free .
