It’s taken me awhile to actually post this, which is ridiculous considering how utterly amazing this brownie was.
Every month or two we get together with my husband’s old roommates and their wives. We do dinner, dessert, and either games or a movie. This get together was for St. Patrick’s day (such a fun tradition!). Sara made a delicious cheesecake that wasn’t gluten free, so her husband picked up a gluten free brownie from Eleanor’s Bakeshop for me. It was seriously AMAZING!!! He didn’t know how I felt about corners, but guessed right and went with a corner (my absolute favorite. I think I need to buy one of those all edges brownie pans).
I’m not kidding when I say this was THE best gluten free brownie I’ve ever had. Everything about it was perfect. I even saved the last two bites, so I could enjoy them later.
Man, now I’m craving it .
My husband tried some too (I often make him do this, so he can compare them to regular treats, since he’s eaten them more recently). He said he never would have guessed they were gluten free and that they were some of the best brownies he’s tasted period, gluten free or not.
I haven’t tried anything else from Eleanor’s Bakeshop, but after trying this I can only imagine that it’s all good.
Have you tried anything from Eleanor’s? How was it? What do I absolutely have to get when I go there?
Thanks Sara and Ryan!
Eleanor's is soooo good, and neither I or my husband and daughter are gluten intolerant, we eat there because it's delicious and everything is priced so reasonably! I always feel stuffed when I leave, which never happens when I go get soup and a sandwich somewhere else (and pay the same or more!). I love the arepas, turkey with their honey mustard sauce or beef brisket with the creamy bbq. I think I have had all there soups and have yet to be disappointed. We love their brownies and the cake pops are a quick treat. And their cinnamon raison bread is delicious all on its own. I must repeat that I can eat whatever I want (no allergies) but I love eleanors!
ReplyDeleteI went there a couple of weeks ago, and bought a loaf of their honey oat bread. Oh my goodness. Best $8.29 I've spent in a LONG time. I can't do the arepas because I'm allergic to corn, but my goodness that bread was fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI wrote about it here: http://cinderellaspear.blogspot.com/2011/08/eleanors-bake-shop-in-sandy-ut.html
Great blog! :) I'm glad to find someone else around here who's part of the club.
